Peacekeeper Training

  • Community Room - Franklin Community Co-OP 144 Main Street Greenfield, MA 01301 (map)

Take an active role in keeping the Franklin County Pride Parde and Rally a safe space by learning how to be a Peacekeeper! Peacekeepers have an extremely important role in our community, taking an active role in keeping the peace during events of potential conflict.

As a peacekeeper you will gain the skills to:

  • Understand and support non-violent means in this action

  • maintain the tone of the action: positive, non-violent, friendly, helpful, calm

  • remain focused on the goal and intent of the action

  • Deal with hecklers and infiltrators; keep protesters safe

FREE and open to the public! This workshop is limited to 30 people. You must register ahead of time to attend.

**It is important to note that Peacekeepers are not part of the demonstration as action participants. They try to keep the tone aligned with the goals and plan of the action taking place and are there to help things go as best they can through use of specific skills and suggested responses.

Light refreshments and snacks will also be provided. Masks are optional and encouraged.
